Firstar 37N Haiyun: A Fairyland Sales Center

An Immersive Experience Inspired by Ancient Legends

The Firstar 37N Haiyun sales center, designed by Song Hongyang and Li Xin, takes inspiration from ancient legends and creates an immersive fairyland experience for customers.

This sales center is part of a vacation property project located in Weihai, Shandong, a city known for its livability and historical significance. The designers draw inspiration from the legend of Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty, who sent 300 boys and girls overseas from the port of Weihai. Building on this storyline, the designers incorporate elements from fairyland stories such as "The Trip to Fairland" and "A Happy Excursion" to transport customers into a magical world.

The unique strength of this design lies in its ability to analyze the psychology of core customers and market demand. The designers understand the importance of creating an emotional connection with potential buyers and aim to incite consumption through captivating spatial performances.

The realization of this design involves the use of advanced technology and materials. In the lobby, the designers recreate the sight of "Kunpeng Galaxy" from "A Happy Excursion" using multichannel fusion technology and acrylic models. This creates a visually stunning representation of Kunpeng, a mythical bird from Chinese folklore. Additionally, a "Mirage" showing area is set up in the space, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the product and learn about it comfortably.

With an area of 2500 sqm, the Firstar 37N Haiyun sales center offers a minimalist and modern aesthetic. The walls and floor are predominantly grayish white, while various materials in the same tone are used to create depth and perspective. Voluminous black blocks are strategically placed to create a striking visual contrast. The combination of lighting and installations in each space provides a unique and memorable experience for visitors.

In the main sand table area, the overall tone changes to light blue, and dim lighting creates the illusion of a vast universe dotted with the sun, the moon, and the stars. The sundial represents the center of the universe, and the fairyland that Qin Shi Huang was searching for is brought to life within this space. The design incorporates the concepts of "the round lies in the square" and "the rainwater pools in the courtyard from all four sides," creating a vivid fairyland within a structured and perspective-driven environment.

The negotiation area features the story of Nirvana of the Phoenix. A water bar extends throughout the rectangular space, with a curved corner on top to soften the rigidity of the area. The use of brown color complements the theme and showcases the nobility of the phoenix. The lighting design above imitates the graceful form of the phoenix, adding to the overall ambiance.

One of the creative challenges overcome in this design was the separation of the space into three sections using two walls. This design choice ensures privacy while maintaining the integrity of the overall space. The blue furnishings in the negotiation area add a fresh and inviting feel. The second-floor negotiation area is designed partly as a book bar, attracting potential customers to learn more about the project. In the future, the water bar, book bar, and Chinese restaurant can be opened to the public as a whole.

The Firstar 37N Haiyun sales center project started in April 2020 in Shenzhen and was completed in May 2021 in Weihai. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to create a space that authentically represents the project's vision and resonates with potential buyers.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. The award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness demonstrated in this design, which incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The Firstar 37N Haiyun sales center contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
